Corporate history

Bergamot was developed by Marketcom, a Melbourne-based contact centre provider with over 100 seats in response to its own need for an integrated solution that could handle a wide variety of outbound and in bound campaigns and enable it to deliver a high level of service and flexibility to its clients.

The solution would need to lower training and set up costs as well as improve the effectiveness of sales outcomes. The offerings in the market at that time were not able to provide this - a situation that has not changed significantly today.

Allied to this is the growing demand by contact centre clients to have on-line real time access to the data as campaigns are being undertaken so that results can be monitored closely and fine tuning can be affected quickly.

Over the past 3 years a number of clients introduced to the Bergamot platform through working with the contact centre have adopted it as their own in house customer and sales management solution.

In 2007 Bergamot Solutions was incorporated into a stand alone entity with the sole purpose of developing the platform further and marketing it to the global market.

Corporate management

Bergamot Solutions has a strong senior management group with a breadth of experience in senior management as well as in the management of software development companies.

David Grant - Chairman

David brings to the company substantial experience in business and management. For many years he was a director and shareholder of Jetset Tours and he has also been Chairman of Tourism Victoria and a director of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. He is a founder and Chairman of Marketcom a 100 seat contact centre facility based in Melbourne.

Tim Cheesewright - Managing Director

Tim has over 17 years experience in senior management roles, sales and marketing in large Australian businesses.

Jurgen Schaub - Chief Technical Officer

Jurgen has been active in the IT industry, both in Australia and in his native Vancouver, for 15 years. A veteran of startups, he founded BOPJET, a streaming media specialist hosting company, and helped with the marketing of FatPort, a wireless Internet hotspot provider. He co-authored a book about Apple Quicktime, and has helped organise a series of industry-wide networking functions. Most recently, he has worked at Marketcom, where he designed the foundation of what is now known as Bergamot.
